How to buy

Browsing needs no account. To bid or buy you register and confirm your email address — that is the whole requirement, and it takes a minute.

Find something

Search, or browse the categories. You can save a search and be notified when something new matches it, and save individual auctions as favourites to follow them.

Read the listing properly before you bid — especially the condition description and the photos. If something is unclear, ask the seller in the message thread. A seller who does not reply before the purchase rarely replies better afterwards.

Place a max bid

You enter the most you are willing to pay. The system bids for you, step by step, only as much as it takes to stay in the lead — never your full max bid at once. Nobody sees how high you went.

An example: the bid stands at 200 kr and you set a max bid of 500 kr, so the visible bid becomes 210 kr. If someone comes in at 300 kr, the system automatically raises yours to 310 kr. Only if someone goes above 500 kr are you outbid — and then you get a notification.

The bid is binding. If you win you are obliged to pay; see the rules for what happens if you do not.

Or buy outright

If the listing has a "buy now" price, you can end the auction immediately at that price instead of bidding.

If it has no bids yet, you can also send the seller a price proposal. If they accept, the purchase is done at that price — the proposal is as binding as a bid.

The auction ends

The auction ends exactly when the clock runs out. The end time does not move, however late a bid arrives — a late bid simply has to be higher, and has to get there before time is up. If you would rather not watch the clock, set a maximum bid: it bids for you, at the right moment, right to the end.

The seller may have set a reserve price, a hidden minimum. If the highest bid does not reach it, the item does not sell, and you are told.

Pay

If you win you get a notification and an email, and you pay under Purchases & parcels. You have 5 days.

Shipping is calculated automatically from the parcel's weight and size (volumetric weight) at the carrier's rates — the seller does not set it, and it is locked when the first bid is placed, when the item is bought outright, or when you send a price proposal the seller then accepts, so it cannot be a surprise afterwards. For pickup there is no shipping cost.

The money does not go on to the seller when you pay. It is held until the item has arrived — see the next step.

Confirm you received it

When the parcel has arrived, or you have collected the item, you confirm it. Then the seller is paid.

Look at the item before you confirm. If you confirm by mistake you have 15 minutes to undo it. If something is actually wrong, do not confirm at all: report the deal instead. That has no 15-minute limit, and it is how buyer protection works.

If the seller booked the shipping through DUZO and you neither confirm nor report a problem, the payment is released to the seller automatically once 14 days have passed from the day the carrier registered the parcel as delivered, for purchases paid on or after 1 November 2026. If the fourteenth day is a Saturday, Sunday, Swedish public holiday, or Midsummer, Christmas or New Year's Eve, the next weekday is counted too. You get a reminder at least three days before. If you report a problem before then, the money stays put while we look into it. For pickups, and for parcels whose shipping the seller did not book through DUZO, nothing happens automatically — there, only your confirmation pays the seller.

Ideally, report within 7 days of the item arriving. It is not a deadline — a later report is still reviewed — but as long as the money has not been paid out to the seller, you can be refunded straight from it. Your rights against the seller under the law apply regardless; read more under Buyer protection.

Leave a rating

After a completed deal you and the seller can rate each other, once each. Ratings can only be left between parties who actually traded — which is why they mean something here.

Right of withdrawal when you buy from a business

If the seller is a business and you are buying as a private individual, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal under the Swedish Distance Contracts Act. It applies even when you have won an auction here, and you do not have to give a reason. The period is counted from the day after you receive the item, and you can withdraw even before it has arrived. The listing says whether the seller is a business before you bid.

You withdraw with “Withdraw from contract here” on the order under Purchases & parcels — the same function is at the bottom of every page. Check your name and which purchase it is, and confirm. You get a receipt straight away, with the date and time, on screen — and also by email, or only in your account, as you choose. The seller receives your notice at the same moment. You get back the price of the item and the shipping you paid, the way you paid — to the card or payment method you used; you pay the return shipping yourself, unless the seller offers free returns. If you have not paid yet, the purchase ends at no cost.

If you buy from a private individual there is no statutory right of withdrawal — a winning bid or a “buy now” is binding. The item must still match the listing, and if it does not you can report the deal to us.
