Most things here go fine. What goes wrong nearly always follows the same pattern, and it takes a couple of seconds to recognise.
Never pay outside DUZO. A payment we cannot see is a payment we cannot protect, reverse, or even prove happened.
Pay on the platform. Always. If someone asks you to Swish them, pay into an account, send gift cards, or "do the deal directly so we skip the fee" — that is not a shortcut, that is the entire fraud.
There is no fee for you as a buyer to skip. Buyer protection is free. Anyone offering to help you get around it is offering to help you give it up.
The same in the other direction: never send an item before you can see the purchase is paid on the platform, whatever screenshot you are shown.
If you recognise any of these, stop and report:
We never ask for your password — not by email, not in chat, not by phone. We never ask you to install anything to receive your money, and we never ask you to sign in with BankID to "verify a payout".
If you are unsure about an email: do not click in it. Go to duzo.se by typing the address yourself and sign in there. If the message is genuine it is in your inbox on the site.
Use a password you do not use anywhere else. The most common way an account is taken over is not someone guessing your password, but it leaking from an entirely different service.
Changing your password signs out all your other sessions automatically. If you suspect someone has been in your account: change the password first, get in touch second.
Meet somewhere with people around, in daylight. Bring someone if the item is expensive.
Look at the item before you confirm receipt on DUZO. The confirmation is what releases the money — it belongs after you have seen the item, not while the seller watches.
Report the listing or the deal directly in the message thread. A person reads it, with the whole chat history and the tracking in front of them.
You will never be told what happens to someone else's account — that is their data — but you are told about your own deal. Report once too often rather than once too few: an innocent listing takes no harm from being read.
If a crime is involved, report it to the police as well. We hand over the evidence we hold when the police ask for it.
